The Maruti Suzuki Ignis concept
Maruti Suzuki ignis during its concept stage was called as IM-4.The concept was first displayed in Geneva Motor Show, 2015. Suzuki projected the IM-4 concept as a personal vehicle that is fun to drive with off-road capabilities. The concept was equipped with 4WD system, modern yet user friendly interiors, boxy but stylish exteriors.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis concept is based on Suzuki’s new generation platform. This platform is designed for robustness and yet with reduced weight which will result high fuel efficiency.
The design language of the Ignis concept was not too funky, its boxy with flared arches, straight shoulder line and blacked out A and B pillars. Overall it gives the design the robust and SUV like look.
Maruti Ignis competition
Maruti Ignis straightaway falls in the category of Mahindra KUV 100. KUV 100 will be its direct competition. On this basis we can expect the dimensions and price to be of similar nature.

Maruti Ignis exterior
The exterior design of Maruti Ignis is boxy and retro combined with modern design elements. The car has a rectangular headlight with DRL embedded into the headlight unit. The side view mirror is mounted on the front doors with turn on indicators.
The side profile f the car has straight shoulder line with beefed up wheel arches. The rear design consists of roof mounted spoilers with minimal designs. It mostly looks like the yesteryear Maruti 800. People who love retro looks will love this car at first sight.
Maruti Ignis Interior
The interior design of Maruti ignis sports more of a modern look, exactly opposite to its exteriors. The cabin is spacious and the dashboard has integrated touch screen infotainment. The dashboard is dual tone and the top end may come equipped with Apple carplay and Android Auto.
Ignis might also be equipped with safety equipment's like ABS, Hill descent control, EBD, Auto Headlights and Air bags. Maruti might try to prove a point here after the recent Global NCAP results of Indian manufactured cars.
Maruti ignis will be equipped with 1.2L Petrol Engine and the 1.3 L DDIS with mild SHVS technology matted to 5 speed manual gearbox and CVT.
Maruti Ignis Expected Launch
Ignis might launch at the end of 2016 or by early 2017.
